Context
RST Rotterdam integrated three neighbouring terminals into one operation and implemented a new TOS supporting QC, RTG, RS, SC and CRMG workflows. The transformation required one unified operational design across multi modal areas with different equipment and buffer strategies.
CHALLENGE
- Increasing productivity and efficiency using new tools, roles and planning approaches.
- Managing role changes, process adoption and skill upgrades for planning, dispatch and terminal supervision.
- Ensuring improvements were measurable and sustainable.
OUR ROLE
We provided extensive on site support, mentoring and skills development for managers, planners and dispatchers. The programme combined training, process optimisation and hands on operational guidance.

- Predictability Clear KPIs and short cycle improvement loops created reliable progress tracking.
- Continuity of operations Improvements were implemented while day to day operations continued without disruption.
- Acceptance across teams Cross functional engagement and on the job coaching built strong organisational alignment.
- Stability after go live More than thirty improvement projects delivered measurable results, including eighteen percent berth productivity improvement during the on site period and a further twenty five percent improvement in the follow up phase, alongside higher customer satisfaction and stronger team performance.
